Vote at Home
All registered voters in Michigan can vote before Election Day using what’s called an absentee ballot. You don’t need an excuse or a reason. You can vote by absentee ballot through the mail, without ever having to leave your home.
An application is required in order to receive an absentee ballot. Applications for absentee ballots will be available 75 days before every election. Once your application is received by our office we will mail your absentee ballot to you. You then need to return your absentee ballot by 8:00 PM on Election Day in order for your vote to be counted.

Request an Absentee Ballot
Registered voters with a Michigan ID can request an absentee ballot online using the absentee voter request form.
Registered voters can also print, complete, and sign an absentee ballot application and return it to the clerk’s office by mail, email, fax, dropbox, or in person.
Click here to be added to the Automatic Absentee Application List to automatically receive an absentee application for every election.

If a voter has already voted absentee and wishes to change their vote (because the candidate has dropped out of the race, or for any other reason), a voter can spoil their ballot by submitting a written request to our office.
